Erdal Bilici is an artist based in Copenhagen whose practice explores time as a vehicle of presentation rather than representation. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2024. He also finished the post graduate program, Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen Programme for Art in Public Space. His works have been exhibited at various institutions including Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Nikolaj Kunsthal, Gl Strand, Den Frie, Bilsart, Mamut Art Project, 5533 and Kusthal 44Møen, within and outside of Denmark. He has been part of artist run spaces and projects Jennifee-See Alternate and Dummy in Copenhagen and actively organizing exhibition and events.
Spanning multiple forms, Bilici’s practice investigates how the logics of the image permeates our mundane reality, and how perceptual technologies mediate our understandings of place, property, history, nature, and biography. Drawing inspiration from local traditions, geological time, he works with contemporary perceptual technologies with remnants of architecture and modernity, connections between human creations, urban landscapes, and spatial psychology to try to culminate a poetic image of decay and cultural entropy via narrative methods.
